The Cincinnati Bengals reportedly already welcomed Joe Burrow to their organization with a letter from owner Mike Brown a day ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared that one of the things the letter expressed was that the Bengals look forward “to building championship football teams with you for many years to come.”
Additionally, the Bengals have already given Burrow the No. 9 jersey, per Schefter.
This isn’t exactly a shocking revelation, though. Burrow himself had already stated that he expected to be the first overall pick Thursday night, and the Bengals coaching staff has talked him up since January.
Coming off one of the most legendary seasons by any quarterback in college football history, Burrow will now attempt to live up to the hype. At least one coach in the NFL thinks he’s a risky pick. Time will tell.
