After watching A.J. Green writhe on the field in agony during Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, it’s not surprising the Cincinnati Bengals believe his season is over.
Albert Breer of The MMQB shared this news following the awful news earlier in the day that the All-Pro wideout was dealing with a “significant” hamstring tear.
Green has been one of the best players in the NFL this year at any position. He has caught 66 passes for 964 yards and four touchdowns to this point and is second in the league behind only Julio Jones in receiving yards.
The Bengals had a very difficult time getting anything going offensively Sunday without Green in the lineup against the Bills, losing 16-12. Already extremely thin at the receiver position, it’s going to be very difficult to come close to replacing Green’s production.
Cincinnati is now 3-6-1 on the year. Green’s injury seems like the death knell to the franchise that is pretty much already done with six weeks left before the regular season concludes.
