Chicago Bears fans hoping to get a young and energetic offensive mind in there for Mitchell Trubisky can’t be happy about Monday’s reported news.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Chicago has hired former Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Bill Lazor for the same position.

This really can’t instill too much confidence in the Bears’ ability to turn it around on offense after a disastrous 2019 season. Just look at the offensive rankings Lazor-led units have put up with him as coordinator.

That’s a whole bunch of ouch right there given just how much Trubisky regressed as a third-year player this past season.

If Bears fans want want a silver lining here, it’s that Nagy will continue to call plays from the head-coaching position. The bad news? His offense ranked 29th in both yards and points scored this past season.
