Report: Auburn dismisses Sean White following arrest

Auburn dismissed quarterback Sean White following an arrest

The Auburn Tigers men’s football team has dismissed quarterback Sean White following an arrest for DUI early Sunday morning, per Matt Zenitz of AL.com.

White was coming off a two-game suspension already when he was arrested around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. The police report “notes White’s condition as drunk and that the arrest was ‘on view’ as opposed to in response to a call or for a warrant.”

Meaning, the cops that arrested White happened upon him and saw he was intoxicated, rather than being called out. The former Auburn quarterback was held on $500 bond and released on his own recognizance on Sunday morning.

“Coach Malzahn is aware of the situation,” an Auburn spokesman said Sunday, per the report. “He is gathering all the facts and will handle this appropriately.”

White appeared in 18 games for the Tigers, starting 16 from 2015-16. He completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 2,845 yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He was beat out for the starting job this summer by Jarrett Stidham, the former Baylor quarterback.
