Under Armour has a lot riding on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors to repeat as NBA champs.
The sports wear giant is reportedly set to release Under Armour Curry Two “2 Rings” basketball shoes on June 4, which would be two days after the 2016 NBA Finals is set to kick off.
That’s bold. As most are likely aware, Curry and the Warriors only have one ring to this point.
This sneaker news comes by way of kicksonfire on Instagram, which posted a shot of the new kicks. And we might add, they’re stupid. Stupid awesome.
What makes this news even bolder is the fact that Curry continues to remain sidelined with a knee sprain, suffered in Game 4 of the team’s first-round series against the Houston Rockets (watch here).
Curry has practiced with the Warriors but has yet to engage in 3-on-3 or 5-on-5 activities, which are requisite before he’ll be allowed to come back and play.
The Dubs have fared well without him, thanks to the outstanding play of Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, and enter Game 3 of their semifinals matchup with the Portland Trailblazers up 2-0.
