Report: Arizona State set to hire Herm Edwards as next coach

Former New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards has not been in the college ranks since 1989. He last coached in the NFL back in 2008 with the Chiefs.

Apparently, this has not scared off the Arizona State Sun Devils’ football program. According to multiple media reports, ASU is set to hire Edwards to be the team’s new head coach.

Edwards will be called on to replace the recently fired Todd Graham for a Sun Devils program that has not been of national relevance since the days of Bruce Snyder in the 1990s and early 2000s.

The long-time NFL coach was last seen in the amateur ranks as the defensive backs coach for San Jose State from 1987-89. Needless to say, this will be a pretty big adjustment for the current ESPN personality.
