Report: Antonio Brown, Steelers agreed trade is ‘for the best’

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers met with Antonio Brown on Tuesday morning, and the end result of the meeting was a consensus that a trade is best for everyone, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media shared that the Steelers have agreed to work on trading Brown, but that neither he nor his agent can reach out to teams at this time.

Brown also shared his thoughts on the meeting.

Based on the way Antonio Brown has been laying into Pittsburgh on social media of late, and based on the fact that he reportedly abandoned his teammates not once, not twice, but three times last year, this was inevitable.

The big question now is whether Pittsburgh can really gain much at all trying to move Brown. He’s done everything he can to tank his own trade value, perhaps in an effort to hurt his soon-to-be former team.

Likely, we’ll see trade talks heat up at the combine. Stay tuned, because the rumors will be flying in hot and heavy.
