Jerry Richardson is planning to sell the Carolina Panthers, and Alan Kestenbaum is the latest name to join the list of potential bidders for the NFL franchise.
Rick Rothacker and Katherine Peralta of the Charlotte Observer reported Kestenbaum, the chairman and CEO of private equity firm Bedrock Industries LP, is interested in buying the team.
Per the report, the Panthers may select a winning bid by the end of March or early in April. This would be done so NFL team owners could vote on whether to approve the sale during meetings from May 21-23.
Kestenbaum is the fourth party expected to pursue the Panthers, who could sell for an estimated $2.3-$2.8 million.
Stephen Curry and Sean “Diddy” Combs are included in the group headed by Michael Rubin, who owns merchandise website Fanatics.
