Report: Andrew Luck preparing for ‘intense throwing regimen’ in April-May

Andrew Luck

As the Indianapolis Colts cross their fingers about the health of Andrew Luck, the young quarterback is reportedly preparing to undergo an “intense throwing regimen” in the coming months that will show how far along he truly is in his recovery.

Zak Keefer of the Indy Star notes that the team remains “very confident” in Luck’s progress and highlights his “recovery will be critical during this time.”

Luck hasn’t thrown in an NFL game since the 2016 season. He underwent surgery on his throwing shoulder in January of 2017 and was expected to be healthy for training camp last season. But as we know, he suffered setbacks and missed the entire 2017 campaign.

To this point, Luck still has not reportedly thrown a football, but he has been throwing weighted balls to help him build up strength in his throwing shoulder. The Colts have steadfastly maintained that their quarterback will be healthy for training camp and the 2018 NFL season.
