In an absolutely shocking report, ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared Saturday evening that Andrew Luck has informed the Indianapolis Colts he will retire.

Schefter notes Luck is “mentally worn down, and now checking out.”

Luck has been beset by a nagging lower-body injury since before the offseason began, missing most of training camp. He missed the entire 2017 season due to a nagging shoulder injury, only to come back last season and have a fantastic campaign for the Colts.

Until more information is made available, all we can really share here is a sense of utter shock. Luck is one of the best quarterbacks in the league when healthy, and the Colts were considered top AFC contenders this season with him at the helm.
