Report: Amari Cooper to sign five-year, $100 million contract with Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys will not lose Amari Cooper, after all. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports he intends to sign a five-year, $100 million contract in free agency.

Interestingly, Schefter noted that the Washington Redskins tried to sign Cooper away from Dallas, but the Cowboys prevailed.

This is absolutely huge for the ‘Boys, who used the exclusive franchise tag on Dak Prescott earlier Monday with the intention of getting him locked up on a long-term deal whenever that can be worked out.

Since joining the Cowboys in a trade with the then-Oakland Raiders in 2018, Cooper has become one of the most dangerous receivers in the league. He almost immediately developed outstanding chemistry with Prescott and has caught 132 passes for 1,914 yards and 14 touchdowns since that trade.
