Future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson will make his first free-agent visit this upcoming week when he heads to the Pacific Northwest to meet with the Seattle Seahawks.

That’s what CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported late Saturday evening. According to the report, Peterson will join a group of running backs set to visit Seattle that includes Latavius Murray and Jamaal Charles.

It was reported shortly after the Minnesota Vikings declined Peterson’s option for the 2017 season that Seattle might be interested. Though, comments from the running back’s father seemed to suggest the interest might not be mutual (more on that here).

Peterson, 31, has been met with a cold market since free agency itself opened on Thursday. Prior to Saturday night, there had not been any reported interest in the future Hall of Famer.

As it relates to the Seahawks, they are looking for a viable veteran option to team up with injury-plagued youngster Thomas Rawls and second-year back C.J. Prosise.

The soon-to-be 32-year-old Peterson is coming off a 2016 campaign that saw him miss all but three games due to a knee injury. All said, Peterson has played a grand total of 20 games since the end of the 2013 campaign.

He did lead the NFL in rush attempts, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns back in 2015.
