Report: A.J. Green unlikely to play this season after visiting foot specialist

The Cincinnati Bengals have not had star receiver A.J. Green for a single game this season due to an ankle injury, and that is not likely to change.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that Green visited with Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay, and noted it is “hard to imagine he’ll return this season.”

Green has long said he wants to re-sign with the Bengals. But he’s going to be a free agent, and one wonders if we’ve already seen his last game in Cincinnati.

One of the league’s best receivers when healthy, Green has hauled in 602 receptions for 8,907 yards and 63 touchdowns in 111 career games. If he does hit free agency, you can bet teams will line up to line his pockets for a few of his remaining prime years.
