Reebok adds J.J. Watt’s younger brothers to endorse clothing line, training shoes

The Reebok football brand has a familial feel to it. The company signed J.J. Watt’s Younger brothers, Derek and T.J. Watt, to endorse J.J.’s training shoes and clothing line.

As ESPN’s Darren Rovell noted, “The three are the only football players Reebok currently has under contract.”

“We grew up pretending to be NFL players in the backyard,” J.J. said, via Rovell. “Now we’re doing it for real, and there’s nobody I’d rather have representing my brand and giving me honest feedback than my brothers.”

Derek, a fullback for the Los Angeles Chargers, was signed by Reebok last year. The addition of T.J. Watt, a rookie linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was announced on Wednesday.

Reebok has certainly taken a hit in the NFL world. It was once the league’s primary apparel supplier and now has only three players endorsing it. Per Rovell, the deal does not include wearing the cleats in games, as “only shoes with Nike, Under Armour and Adidas logos are permitted, per a marketing deal with the NFL.”

Still, Watt is one of the game’s biggest stars, and he has been since entering the NFL with the Houston Texans in 2011. Adding him, along with his two brothers, gives Reebok some big names and an entirely unique element.
