Redskins talking to the Jets about NFL Draft trade, per report

One blockbuster trade already shook up the early stages of this week’s NFL Draft. But the trade market might not be quiet for much longer.

According to Connor Hughes of The Athletic, the Washington Redskins have had preliminary talks with the New York Jets to move up to the No. 3 spot in the draft.

This comes on the same day that it was noted Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy underwent another procedure on his injured leag.

With Alex Smith’s career in jeopardy and only Case Keenum on the roster behind those two, it seems reasonable to conclude that Washington is looking to move up for a quarterback.

Selecting No. 15 overall, it would take a small fortune for Washington to move up to the third pick. That would likely include the team’s first-round selection in 2020.

It’s interesting in that Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins is seemingly falling down the draft board. With Kyler Murray likely to go to the Cardinals at one, common logic suggests the Skins wouldn’t have to move all the way up to three for Haskins.

Other first-round options include Missouri’s Drew Lock and Duke’s Daniel Jones. One of those should be available at 15.
