Nearly eight months after suffering a devastating knee injury in practice, Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster has started to regain feeling in his left foot.
As detailed by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Foster recently revealed that he suffered nerve damage in his left knee in addition to a torn ACL, LCL and MCL.
As Foster’s agent detailed, the 25-year-old linebacker lost feeling in his toes after the injury. Foster used BioXcellerator, a method that regenerates parts of the body through stem cells and cellular therapies, as part of his recovery process.
Most importantly for Foster, the nerve in his knee is firing again and that allows him to start moving his leg upward and have feeling in his ankle and the top of his left foot.
He still faces a lengthy recovery process from the injury, so a timetable for his return to the field isn’t known. However, it’s great to see him take this major step in his recovery from an injury that could have ended his career.
