The Washington Redskins have noted that they don’t feel a sense of urgency to add a quarterback in the first round of this month’s NFL Draft.
Despite this, the team will visit with every early-round quarterback option leading up the annual event outside of reigning Heisman winner Kyler Murray.
We’re not really sure why Washington is shunning Murray. But there could be a few obvious seasons.
Washington heads into draft season with the recently-acquired Keenum battling with veteran Colt McCoy for the starting job. The team could use a third quarterback with Alex Smith likely sidelined for the entire 2019 season.
Apparently, either Washington isn’t sold on Murray or believes acquiring him is a long shot. Even then, it’s surprising that the team isn’t doing its due diligence.
