Jim Tomsula famously flamed out in his only season as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, though his bank account helped soften the blow.
Now back in his comfort zone as the defensive line coach for the Washington Redskins, he’s also reunited with defensive coordinator Greg Manusky, whom he worked with from 2007-10 when Manusky had that same position in San Francisco.
So the two of them have some solid history between them, which leads us to the following quote.
Greg Manusky on what DL coach Jim Tomsula brings: "Toughness…Might not win a game, but we’ll surely beat the crap out of a lot of people.”

It’s hard to really top that.
“Might not win a game, but we’ll surely beat the crap out of a lot of people.”
Jim Tomsula. Encapsulated in 17 words.
To be fair, Tomsula did lead the 49ers to five wins in his lone season at the helm. He’s also one of the best defensive line coaches in football. Washington is lucky to have him. That said, we couldn’t help but guffaw reading what Manusky said about his good buddy.
