Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson has been doing this for a while. He’s a professional. It has to be hard for the future Hall of Famer to be a member of a team that simply can’t compete on a weekly basis.
The latest example of this was a 33-7 loss to the New England Patriots, Washington’s fifth consecutive defeat to open the season.
Following a game in which he ran the ball seven times for just 18 yards, Peterson put his team on absolute blast.
This is a major burn in every possible way. Peterson is pretty much saying that the Pats didn’t even have to try in order to hold the Skins’ offense to seven points and 220 total yards.
It really was like watching a varsity squad scrimmage against junior varsity team. More often than not, that has been the case this season.
Adding to the frustration is the fact that this felt like a home game for the defending champs in D.C. That can’t sit well with anyone on the Redskins.
