Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford missed practice Wednesday with the right thumb injury he sustained in last week’s game.

Stafford was diagnosed with a UCL sprain in his throwing thumb after making contact with helmets while throwing in Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Rams coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Stafford is day-to-day and has not been ruled out for Sunday’s game at Green Bay. Further, McVay said Stafford will likely be a gametime decision.

“You give him up until right before the game,” McVay said.

Stafford, 35, has thrown for 2,070 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions this season.

Brett Rypien would get the start if Stafford is unable to play. Rypien replaced Stafford against the Cowboys, going 5-for-10 with 42 yards.

McVay said earlier this week that it’s “less likely” that 2023 fourth-round pick Stetson Bennett will be back with the team this season.

The Rams signed QB Dresser Winn to the practice squad as insurance. They also signed RB Darrell Henderson to the active roster from the practice squad.
