This is about as cute as it gets. Less than two years after relocating his team from St. Louis to Los Angeles, Rams owner Stan Kroenke is crying foul for no apparent reason.
Fresh off the Rams dropping their NFC Wildcard game against the Atlanta Falcons at home Saturday night, Kroenke is complaining about a lack of true home-field advantage at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
“In two years we’ll be in a new stadium, and I think we can have a true home-field advantage like a lot of the teams do,’’ Kroenke said, via USA Today Sports. “We don’t really have it now.’’
One has to wonder why this is the case. Maybe playing at a college football stadium in a city your team had not called him in two decades could play a role in this. Just some food for thought there, Stan.
Already finding himself in the midst of being sued by fans in St. Louis, maybe it’s not the best idea for Kroenke to offend fans in Los Angeles. Again, just some food for thought.
To be clear. Los Angeles Coliseum has not necessarily been a home-field advantage for the Rams. Kroenke might be right in that regard. But he’s legitimately the last person who should be complaining.
We’re also not 100 percent sure that the Rams’ new stadium in Inglewood will provide real home-field advantage for the team. After all, executives paying thousands of dollars for suites and good tickets aren’t typically those who will create an unwelcoming atmosphere for the road team.
