Rajon Rondo: Relationship with George Karl ‘not going too well’

In a shocking—yet refreshing—piece of honesty, Sacramento Kings point guard Rajon Rondo admitted his relationship with head coach George Karl is not off to a great start.

Cowbell Kingdom posted an interview with Rondo, who said he and Karl have had a couple arguments in the last few days.

Rondo will get slammed for his comments, and he probably should’ve known better than to say something with a negative feeling. After all, the Kings haven’t even reached their first regular season game with Rondo and trouble is already brewing.

However, it’s not like this wasn’t expected.

Karl wants his style and appears hesitant to accept modifications. If that wasn’t true, he wouldn’t complain about having a bona fide superstar in DeMarcus Cousins on the roster and reportedly attempt to trade the Kentucky product in his prime.

Rondo has clashed with coaches throughout his time in the NBA, and his brief tenure with the Dallas Mavericks ended rather unceremoniously because Rick Carlisle benched Rondo.

The marriage of Rondo and Sacramento was destined to fail. Numerous opinions were published on the exact issue while the Rondo-to-Kings reality was only a rumor.

Perhaps the player and coach will figure it out and establish a working relationship, but don’t be surprised if this isn’t the first time Rondo speaks his mind about Karl.
