Raiders reportedly have finalized deal with Oakland for 2019 season

The Raiders will officially be playing in Oakland, pending a final vote, for the 2019 NFL season after agreeing to terms on an agreement with the city.

Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the Raiders “finalized terms Tuesday on a lease agreement to occupy the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum for at least one more season.”

He notes that the terms of the deal includes $7.5 million rent to play at the venue in 2019, with a $10.5 million team option for the 2020 season on the off chance that the Las Vegas Stadium isn’t completed in time for a 2020 move.

There are two steps remaining before everything is wrapped up. First, the Coliseum Authority needs to vote on the agreement (Wednesday) and then the Oakland City Council and Alameda County Board of Supervisors must also approve the deal.

Gehlken notes that these votes are expected to be a formality.

This deal has been in the works for weeks, yet the Raiders really didn’t have a better option and it was widely expected that they’d come to an agreement with Oakland to make it happen.
