The eventual migration of the Oakland Raiders to Las Vegas just got one step closer. According to the Clark County records’ office, the Raiders just bought a 62-acre piece of land for a cool $77.5 million, via John Breech of CBS Sports.
This announcement came from Clerk County Commissioner, Steve Sisolak.

Per the report, the land is located near the Mandalay Bay Hotel, west of the south portion of the Las Vegas strip.

From the looks of this video, the land is quite close to the strip action. The Raiders also released a rendering for their new stadium back in March. While this all looks quite exciting, the Raiders relocation to their own brand new stadium won’t come until 2020.
Owner Mark Davis has also committed to wanting to remain in Oakland through 2019. This is one year after the team’s lease is up at the coliseum, per the report.
That does not mean the team is not enthusiastic about its move though.

Eventually, Oakland fans are going to have to get used to their new team, the Las Vegas Raiders.
