Goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer agreed to a new deal to keep her with Racing Louisville though the 2024 season, with a team option for 2025, the club announced Tuesday.

“I am super grateful to be re-signed here at Racing,” Bloomer said. “I think everybody can see the potential that this team has, so I’m really excited to be back and do what I can to help the team be as successful as possible next season.”

Bloomer missed most of the 2023 season due to back surgery, which was performed in May, and she ultimately landed on the season-ending injury list. Club officials, however, appear confident she’s been doing the right things to recover and will be ready to compete in the coming year.

“Jordyn’s progress since her injury has been inspired,” Racing general manager Ryan Dell said. “Her hard work and dedication match Racing Louisville’s values, and I cannot wait to see her back on the field in 2024.”

Bloomer, 25, was a second-round pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft after earning All-American honors and twice being named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year during a standout career at Wisconsin.

She spent the 2022 winter on loan to the Australian club Western Sydney Wanderers, of the A-League Women, where she made 14 starts and recorded four clean sheets.
