Utah State quarterback Jordan Love was among four Aggies athletes charged with possession of a controlled substance after police found marijuana on them on Saturday.
According to The Salt Lake Tribune, local police were alerted that several athletes were smoking marijuana in an apartment near campus. After law enforcement arrived on the scene, the door to the apartment was opened and police detected the smell of marijuana and went inside.
Love, along with wide receiver Sean Carter and running back Gerold Bright were charged with misdemeanors for marijuana possession. Track athlete Elani Rice was charged as well.
The junior quarterback threw for 3.085 yards this season with 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the country in 2018 with a 32-6 TD-INT ratio and 3,567 passing yards.
Bright led the team this season in rushing yards (827) and rushing touchdowns (eight), while Carted hauled in just one reception for 17 yards.
All four athletes, who cooperated fully with police, will be present before a judge on Dec. 30.
