One of the most underrated offensive linemen since entering the league as a fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2009, guard T.J. Lang officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday.

Lang, 31, was cut loose by the Detroit Lions following an injury-plagued 2018 season that saw him miss all but six games. Prior to that, Lang earned a Pro Bowl spot each of the past two seasons.

Known more for his eight-year run in Green Bay, Lang certainly had something left in the tank. If he had decided to continue with a career on the gridiron, there would’ve been a lot of interest in his services.

Instead, Lang steps away from the game at a relatively young age to focus on his family. As the Eastern Michigan product noted in his retirement announcement, “The only thing I ask myself today is how I can be a better husband, father, son, brother, friend.”
