Prince Fielder is No Longer Going Streaking

And he has a herniated disc to thank for that. Also, get your mind out of the gutter.

The injury bug has hit Texas Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder.

According to Yahoo Sports, this injury isn’t putting him on the disabled list (where half of MLB has made it’s home) however this does mean his 547 consecutive games streak has come to an end. This was the longest active streak in baseball since 2010 when he was with the Milwaukee Brewers.

So don’t worry Cal, your record is still very safe.

Fielder is having a rough season with the Rangers so far. The 30 year old is hitting with a .247 with just three bombs, 16 RBI’s and 37 hits.

Not great numbers for a guy who is being paid $24 million dollars and was one of the feared members at the plate for the Detroit Tigers over the last couple of years.

So go ahead and put the clothes back on Prince. Yes, that Prince too.
