Potential No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett won’t attend 2017 NFL Draft

Former Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett could very well be the No. 1 overall pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft. At the very least, the super-talented pass rusher is a top-three pick.

That’s what makes Garrett’s plans to skip the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft and watch it at home so darn intriguing.

We have seen top prospects skip the draft in previous seasons, most of them deciding to watch the event with their family back at home.

Though, the idea of the likely No. 1 overall pick not being in attendance as Roger Goodell announces the selection isn’t good optics for the NFL. The draft itself has turned into one of the most-popular events on the league’s calendar. And in reality, the NFL itself would love to see all the top prospects attend.

For his part, Garrett doesn’t seem to be one that’s interested in the glitz and glamor of the draft process itself. Instead, he simply wants to get to work. That’s the type of character NFL teams surely do covet.
