With the NFL Draft just over a week away, the Silver and Black Today Podcast crew continue to talk about which direction the Oakland Raiders may go in the first round.
We convened on yet another Tuesday to talk Raiders football on the Silver and Black Today Podcast from the world headquarters of US Fantasy Sports in Las Vegas. Scott Winter, Matt Gutierrez, and I shared the latest whispers about the NFL Draft and how it could impact how the Raiders select at #10 in the first round.
Although most mock drafts are projecting Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith as Reggie McKenzie‘s first selection, increasingly his stock is moving up and some surmise he may go at six to the Indianapolis Colts. Both me and Silver and Black Today NFL writer Hayden Nadolny both believe Tremaine Edmunds from Virginia Tech would be a better fit with more upside than Smith. The team talks about both and why both would be worthy of the 1oth overall pick.
Gutierrez and Winter also talk about top needs on offense and defense for the Raiders. Gutierrez even believes the Raiders could go for a big wide receiver in the second or third round. Winter reiterated he believes the Raiders will go linebacker or defensive back, dismissing some talk about the team perhaps going for Notre Dame offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey.
