Despite reaching the playoffs last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers enter the offseason facing one of the biggest questions of the NFL offseason. Not even their decision-makers appear to know who will quarterback the Steelers in 2025, but they may be nearing a decision.
Steelers rumors have pointed to the potential acquisition of Matthew Stafford from the Los Angeles Rams. On paper, the move makes a lot of sense, considering Stafford is 37 and will prioritize winning. Meanwhile, Mike Tomlin has never led a losing season in 18 seasons as the Steelers’ head coach.
Recently, Steelers general manager Omar Khan addressed the possibility of adding the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback with a Super Bowl ring on his hands.

Pittsburgh Steelers GM suggests Matthew Stafford trade is ‘fake news’

Are the Pittsburgh Steelers trading for Matthew Stafford? Based on the latest comments from GM Omar Khan, Steelers fans shouldn’t hold their breath when it comes to a Stafford trade to Pittsburgh. Here was Khan’s response when asked about Stafford landing with the Steelers via trade this offseason.
“I’m not going to comment on specific players or things that are out there. The one thing I’ve learned is that there’s a lot of fake news out there. That’s just part of what we do. But there’s a lot of fake news that’s out there. But I’ll say all options are on the table until we address our quarterback position.”

While there is a lot of “fake news”out there regarding player acquisitions this time of year, the one thing we do know is the Steelers will have to make a QB decision relatively soon. Whether that’s bringing Russell Wilson or Justin Fields back or adding an outside QB remains to be seen.
