Pirates’ Jameson Taillon had surgery for suspected testicular cancer

Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon was admitted to Allegheny General Hospital on Monday morning and underwent surgery for suspected testicular cancer.

The team provided the following details.

The Pirates had placed Taillon on the 10-day DL on Sunday after he experienced groin discomfort.

He is 2-1 with a 3.31 ERA in six starts this season.
