Once New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady earned Super Bowl MVP honors earlier this month, he claimed that he’d love to give the truck that came with the award to cornerback Malcolm Butler.
Just 10 days later, Butler now owns the shiny red truck thanks to Chevy giving it directly to him instead of Brady.

Butler had some awesome words to share about Brady via ESPN..
Tom is a great guy for doing that. We had a meeting, and he was just like ‘Congratulations on the big play. You can get the keys to that truck.’ … I couldn’t have done all that without my teammates, so I’m just thankful to have the truck.
While Butler now owns the truck, the transaction wasn’t completely free. Providing Butler stays with the Patriots in 2015, he’ll be taxed in the top tax bracket and will owe about $15,000 in state and federal taxes on the vehicle.
The tax man…always having his stuff up in everyone else’s business.
