Philadelphia Phillies place outfielder Nick Castellanos (oblique) on IL

The Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder Nick Castellanos on the 10-day injured list Sunday.

He left Friday’s game at San Francisco with tightness in his right oblique and had an MRI on Saturday.

Castellanos, 30, is batting. 265 with a .702 OPS, 13 home runs and 61 RBIs over 128 games in his first season with the Phillies.

Over 10 seasons with the Detroit Tigers (2013-19), Chicago Cubs (2019), Cincinnati Reds (2020-21) and Phillies, Castellanos is a career .277 hitter with 181 home runs and 655 RBIs. He was named to his first All-Star team last season.

The Phillies called up infielder/outfielder Dalton Guthrie from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding transaction. He has yet to make his MLB debut.

Guthrie, 26, is batting .302 with 10 homers, 52 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 92 games this season with the IronPigs.
