Phillies Bryce Harper exits game with dehydration

Philadelphia Phillies fans were a bit concerned when star outfielder Bryce Harper exited about midway through Sunday’s game against the San Diego Padres.

The concern was that Harper suffered an injury of some sorts. That’s not the case. Instead, Philadelphia notes that Harper exited the game with dehydration.

Take it from someone who has been to that part of the country a lot. Philadelphia is almost unbearable during the latter stages of the summer. It was 90 degrees with 52 percent humidity at first pitch Sunday afternoon. This likely played a role in Harper’s premature departure from the game.

Some had suggested that Harper exited the because his wife, Kayla, was about to give birth to their first child.

Kayla has posted about her pregnancy multiple times on Instagram, the latest post showing that she was pretty far a long.

That’s obviously going to have to wait.

The good news here is that Harper did not suffer an injury. Philadelphia needs all hands on deck as it looks to make a late run at a postseason spot in the National League. Harper himself has been heating up recently.
