Philip Rivers future Chargers

Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers are coming off a downright dreadful seven-turnover performance against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

A turnover machine this season, the 38-year-old Rivers accounted for four of those giveaways in a blowout 39-10 “home loss.”

Now that his Chargers are officially eliminated from playoff contention, Rivers seems to know the writing is on the wall. In fact, he’s highly uncertain about a future with the Chargers.

Rivers also noted after Sunday’s loss that the final two games of the 2019 season could be his swan song in Los Angeles.

A free agent after the season, rumors have persisted that the Chargers could move on from Rivers this offseason in lieu of either a young quarterback or a proven veteran.

The eight-time Pro Bowler has thrown 21 touchdowns and accounted for 21 turnovers on the season.

Despite this, interest would be strong if Rivers decided to continue playing beyond this season. His track record speaks for itself.
