Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles want to know more about the future of Jason Kelce, the six-time All-Pro center who’s been a fixture in the trenches for the past 13 seasons.

Kelce’s season ended over a month ago when the Eagles suffered a tough 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round on January 15th. But as we know, he’s been busy celebrating his brother Travis Kelce’s third Super Bowl win too.

But what about Jason’s future? He’s under contract for the 2024 season, but Kelce is also 36 years old. Will he keep playing? One of his fellow offensive linemen recently weighed in on the hot topic.

Jason Kelce has not made a statement on whether he’s returning or retiring for the 2024 season. Yet, as mentioned, nor does he have to, since the seven-time Pro Bowl center is still under contract for another year.

But that doesn’t mean Kelce won’t face plenty of questions about his future, even if he continues to play at an elite level. Not only will the NFL’s most popular center face questions, so will his teammates.

Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata touched on Kelce’s future in Philadelphia during Super Bowl week, where he cast doubt on a return in 2024.

“There’s no shot. You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun. He’s out there living his life. And I’m going to miss him for sure, man. This has been the greatest six years of my life for sure, being here in the NFL and getting to meet people like Jason Kelce.”

Mailata has started four seasons with Kelce on the Eagles’ offensive line, and they’ve even collaborated on a Christmas album off the field, so they’ve developed quite the bond.

Ultimately, Mailata’s opinion may not mean much when it comes to Kelce’s desire to keep playing, but we’ll agree that he does look like he’s having a lot of fun.
