It’s officially “Howie Season” for the Philadelphia Eagles as they enter the offseason coming off their second Super Bowl championship in franchise history.
After their 2023 collapse, general manager Howie Roseman rebuilt the roster into a championship team. Key additions included running back Saquon Barkley, linebacker Zack Baun, right guard Mekhi Becton, safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and rookie cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
The moves paid off spectacularly. Barkley earned Offensive Player of the Year honors with a historic season. Baun emerged as an All-Pro linebacker, while Becton helped to solidify one of the NFL’s top offensive lines. Gardner-Johnson brought leadership and intensity to the secondary as both Mitchell and DeJean finished as Defensive Rookie of the Year finalists.
The Eagles currently have just over $18 million in cap space, with the NFL salary cap expected to rise between $277 million and $281 million. Roseman faces decisions on several key players, including Baun, Becton, defensive end Josh Sweat, and defensive tackle Milton Williams.
Now, the Eagles appear poised for another major move.
Philadelphia Eagles one of favorites to acquire four-time All-Pro defensive player

According to The Athletic, Philadelphia has the second-best FanDuel odds (+450) to acquire four-time All-Pro and 2023 Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns, trailing only the Washington Commanders (+300). Garrett has requested a trade, expressing his desire to join a Super Bowl contender.
“[T]he Eagles have their cornerbacks of the future, Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell, on rookie contracts and a young defensive line with inexpensive contracts,” notes The Athletic’s Jess Bryant. “Much of Philly’s money is tied up on offense with Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, Saquon Barkley and company. Eagles Vice President Howie Roseman is known for this type of deal, and Garrett would love to join a Super Bowl-ready team. Philadelphia would likely have to give up one or two first-rounders and let Josh Sweat walk in free agency, but it could happen.”
After trading Haason Reddick to the New York Jets, the Eagles’ signing of Bryce Huff has been a bust, as he was left inactive for the Super Bowl. Adding Garrett to a defensive front featuring Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Nolan Smith, and Jalyx Hunt could transform them into an unstoppable unit.
In eight Cleveland seasons, Garrett has amassed 102.5 sacks, 116 tackles for loss, 200 quarterback hits, 20 forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries.
