One of the elite prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft says that he is guaranteed to go to the Philadelphia Eagles at 10 if he is still on the board at that point on Thursday night.

Georgia defensive star Jalen Carter has had a very wild road to tonight’s NFL Draft. And unfortunately, many of the ups and downs over the last few weeks have been self-inflicted. After helping the Bulldogs to win a second straight title in January, Carter was involved in a fatal crash that led to the demise of a teammate and Georgia staff member.

However, the prospect’s recollection of the deadly events was found to be untrue following an investigation by Georgia authorities. It led to a warrant for his arrest, being booked by police, and agreeing to a plea deal at the same time as this year’s NFL Combine. Those events had an effect on his draft stock and the situation wasn’t helped by a poor performance during his pro-day following the Combine.

Philadelphia Eagles record (2022): 14-3, first place in NFC East

Now, after being seen as the best overall prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft and a possible No. 1 pick, Jalen Carter could fall to the back of the top 10 on Thursday. However, it seems 10 is as far as he will drop in this year’s event.

Carter has been linked to the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles over the last week since his draft stock has fallen and he would be a prototypical selection for the team at this spot. Well, the defensive tackle was asked on Wednesday if the organization had indeed made rumored promises they will take him if he surprisingly drops all the way to 10 tonight.

In his response, Carter kept it simple when he said, “Yes sir.”

The Philadelphia Eagles lost star tackle Javon Hargrave in free agency to the San Franciso 49ers last month. Carter would be an excellent replacement and high-value pick if he fell to the team on Thursday.
