Peyton Manning had one of the most successful careers on the field in NFL history. In the years since his retirement, the Hall of Fame quarterback has been just as successful in business and entertainment. Now, Manning is trying to help one of his former rivals do the same.

Manning created Omaha Productions in 2020, an entertainment company that is now partnered with ESPN and responsible for producing the Manningcast on ESPN2 for Monday Night Football. After several years of success and popularity with that simulcast, Manning is now trying to help expand that with a new simulcast that could be just as popular.

Shortly after his retirement this offseason, former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Sabam joined ESPN to become an analyst for “College GameDay” this upcoming season. However, that will only be a portion of his duties if Manning and Omaha Productions have it their way.

Speaking to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Manning confirmed previous reporting that he is pursuing former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick for a co-analyst seat with Omaha Productions before football season kicks off.

“If it comes to fruition, I think fans will be excited to see how incredibly brilliant Bill Belichick is when talking about football and how witty and funny he is.

If Belichick were to join ESPN and Manning’s company, there would be an immediate push to try and create a simulcast with Saban for primetime football games. The idea would be similar to what Peyton and Eli Manning are doing now for Monday Night Football, only this time providing the perspective of two legendary head coaches.

Since being dismissed by New England, Belichick has missed out on the Atlanta Falcons’ coaching vacancy and turned down offers from other NFL teams to become a defensive coordinator. He is not expected to return to coaching in 2024, which makes a role in sports media a possibility. If that happens, Belichick would still have the opportunity to leave ESPN to become an NFL head coach in 2025.
