Pete Carroll Selected to Receive Honorary Degree from USC

Seattle Seahawks’ head coach Pete Carroll will be heading to California on May 15 to receive an honorary degree from the University of Southern California.

Carroll is one of six individuals that USC has selected this year to attend their graduation ceremony and receive an honorary degree. He will return to the college that he led the football team from 2001-2009. Since Carroll’s arrival in Seattle, he has helped lead the team to two back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, including a win over the Denver Broncos last February.

Additionally, over the course of Carroll’s coaching career, he founded “A Better LA” and “Better Seattle” anti-gang violence community programs.

Carroll is also set to be inducted into USC’s athletic Hall of Fame the day after his graduation takes place.
