WATCH: Rookie Pete Alonso blasts 30th home run, sets another record

New York Mets rookie phenom Pete Alonso continues to amaze. On Sunday, he belted his 30th home run of the season ahead of the All-Star break.

Recently, Alonso broke Darryl Strawberry’s franchise record for most home runs by a rookie…in a single season. His 30th home run before the break also tied a Mets franchise record.

Additionally, he broke a National League record with his 68 first-half RBI.

Pete Alonso also just set a new National League rookie record with 68 first-half RBI.

He leads all rookies in home runs, RBI, extra-base hits, OBP, slugging, OPS, total bases, runs, hits, multi-hit games, doubles and walks.

Alonso is, easily, the NL ROY front-runner.

He’s been smashing records left and right, and at this point we won’t be surprised by anything he does the rest of the season.
