One of the biggest figures in the entire Colin Kaepernick collusion case against the NFL and its teams is New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Kraft is now the latest to be deposed in the case.

“Another major NFL honcho is being deposed in the Colin Kaepernick collusion case — this time it’s New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft,” TMZ Sports reports.

It goes without saying that Kraft’s politics and those he associates with will play a role in Kaepernick’s argument. After all, he is considered friends with President Donald Trump. Whether that translates to the powers to be believing Kraft colluded against Kaepernick remains to be seen.

We also must note that Kraft’s friendship with Trump dates back to when the Patriots’ owner’s wife died. In Kraft’s own words, Trump was there for him more than most.

“After my wife passed in 2011, he was one of the few people who went out of their way and went above and beyond to assist me through the most difficult time in my life,” Kraft said back in 2016. “I will always be grateful to him for his thoughtfulness and his continued friendship.”

In no way does this relationship mean that Kraft is in lock-step with a president in Trump that has been at odds with NFL players. He’s in the past been unwilling to talk politics publicly.

Kraft’s deposition comes after Denver Broncos GM John Elway was deposed earlier in the week. A known Republican, Elway had considered trading for Kaepernick back in 2016.

It will certainly be interesting to see what comes of this.
