Patriots provide team plane for Stoneman Douglas High School students

According to The Boston Globe, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft provided the official team plane to fly families and students affected by the recent shooting at Florida’s Stoneman Douglas High School to the nation’s capital.

There is an event called “March for Our Lives” against gun violence that will be held Saturday at the capital.

Per the report, former Arizona representative Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, asked Kraft for this favor. Giffords survived getting shot in the head during a public event in Arizona back in 2011.

Giffords’ husband Kelly shared this about the students from Florida who wanted to make their way to Washington for the Saturday march.

“Not only did their friends and teachers get shot and killed, other friends shot and injured . . . most of them, they had bullets flying over their heads,” Kelly said, per The Washington Post. “This is not fair that they have to deal with something like this at their age.”

According to The Boston Globe, the Patriots’ plane took off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday.

Here are a few captures some students posted thanking Kraft for donating the plane.

According to The Boston Globe, thousands of people are expected to join the march on Saturday to plead for stronger gun control measures. Afterwards, “AirKraft” will fly the families and victims back to Florida.
