The New England Patriots have brought back safety Devin McCourty. He broke the news of his contract on YouTube with his brother, Jason, who’s also a member of the team.
After the McCourty twins announced their news, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media shared that his contract is a two-year deal worth $23 million, with $17 million guaranteed.
McCourty, 32, is a former first-round pick out of Rutgers who has started 155 games in his career. Last season with the Patriots, he started all 16 games, tallying 58 tackles, five interceptions, seven passes defensed, and two forced fumbles.
For the Patriots, this is a huge move that will keep the secondary largely intact and dangerous.
