The Kansas City Chiefs made Patrick Mahomes the richest player in NFL history Monday with a record-breaking 10-year contract. The known details about this deal are absolutely stunning, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported it’s worth “at least” $400 million.

After the dust settled, everyone started thinking about Dak Prescott.

Dak Prescott contract situation with Cowboys is now even trickier

This young quarterback stands to rake it in with the Dallas Cowboys sometime soon. Remember, Prescott has signed his exclusive franchise tag and has some serious leverage on Jerry Jones and Co. right now.

If he doesn’t agree to a long-term deal before the July 15 deadline, he stands to earn at least $37 million on the franchise tag next year. Needless to say, given the revenue challenges the NFL faces amid the pandemic, things are now getting even murkier for Jones to work out a deal.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the Mahomes news, through the lens of Prescott’s situation with the Cowboys.
