With two weeks left, Patrick Mahomes favored to win MVP

There are just two more weeks left in the regular season, and first-year starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes is in prime position for league MVP.

Following a third straight poor performance by Drew Brees on Monday night, Mohomes is the odds-on favorite to win the NFL MVP for the 2018 season.

It’s tough to argue this point whatsoever. The term “most valuable” is debatable, and many feel like defensive star Khalil Mack of the Chicago Bears deserves to be among the top candidates. However, when one imagines how Kansas City would fare without Mahomes, one comes away thinking that would be an ugly picture.

The second-year quarterback has been simply phenomenal all season long. He’s very close to becoming the second quarterback in NFL history to pass for at least 5,000 yards and throw for 50 touchdowns. Through 14 games he has 4,543 yards and 45 touchdowns through the air.

Oh, and there’s nobody else in the league who could even dream about doing this.

Brees is amazing. Philip Rivers is, too. But nobody is more valuable to his team’s success right now than the young man from Texas Tech.
