Panthers owner donates school supplies for 15,000 children

Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper is already one of the most popular figures in a position of power around the NFL.

Entering just his second season in that role, Tepper has already made a name for himself in the league. He’s also about as altruistic as any other owner in the NFL.

The latest example of this is Mr. Tepper donating school supplies to 15,000 local children, including backpacks.

With a total net worth of nearly $12 billion, Tepper can certainly afford to help these young children out.

But for the greenish owner and founder of Appaloosa Management, this is nothing new.

Back in 2003, Tepper made a hefty $55 million donation to Carnegie Mellon University’s business school. He’s also donated millions to the University of Pittsburgh and Rutgers University.

Needless to say, education is of utmost importance for the 61-year-old Pittsburgh native.
