Carolina Panthers owner David A. Tepper is doing his part to help local communities combat COVID-19 and providing support to those in need. The Panthers announced that Tepper is donating $2.65 million through the David A. Tepper Foundation to help local communities deal with COVID-19.

In a statement, the team said Tepper’s donations went towards the COVID-19 Response Fund, the American Health Foundation, the Novant Health Foundation and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Foundation.

Tepper took over as the team’s owner in 2018 and he has become an important figure for the team and community ever since. He is also looking into renovating the Panthers’ stadium or potentially building a new one in the future.

He joins Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank, who announced a $5.4 million donation on Friday, in an effort to help local communities and the entire country deal with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Let’s hope more NFL owners step forward in the coming days and weeks, bringing more awareness to COVID-19 and making donations to help their communities.
