Panthers officially bring back future Hall of Famer Julius Peppers

It was reported earlier on Friday that the Carolina Panthers were in discussions with nine-time Pro Bowler Julius Peppers to bring him back to where it all started.

Carl Carey, Peppers’ agent, confirmed that his client has indeed returned to the Panthers after a near decade-long hiatus.

Peppers, 37, still has something left in the tank. As a situational pass rusher for the Green Bay Packers last season, he put up 7.5 sacks. Now, fifth on the NFL’s all-time sack list, Peppers will finish his career where it all started.

From 2002-09, the North Carolina product put up 81 sacks for the Panthers en route to earning five trips to the Pro Bowl. Peppers will join a pass-rushing group in Carolina that already includes Charles Johnson and Mario Addison. It’s a solid move for both sides.
